Age of Glory
Last night was the last episode for this fantastic local drama, Age of Glory. I had been following the show since don't know when :s I never know Malaysia got this kind of high standard drama. Normally when you heard of local tv shows or drama, what can you expect right. But this is really really good, trust me. I ain't going to blog about the storyline and such, you can read it from here.
Aenie Wong (as Chen Mei), my favourite girl. She looks so simple and pretty. I don't know where the director or whatsoever found her lo. It's like out of no where there is such a good talent in our country. Compare to some of the previous HVD actors/actresses, she is so good man.
Debbie Goh (as Yu Lan and Mei Gui). She is the main character in the drama. Superb acting as well. But her faith so sad la.

I wish ntv7 will publish this drama in DVD so that I can buy and keep a copy as collection. I bet a lot of people would love to buy it as well. So far I've only seen the advertisement of the OST already start selling, the drama not yet right?
p.s: Age of Glory actually is a story about the era of Rose Chan, as well as some of the historical moments during that age. You don't know who is Rose Chan? It's ok, because we all were no where in this world yet during that time. But the story of Rose Chan really interesting after I googled it. Can you imagine she is a local Queen of Cabaret also the Queen of Striptease in 1950's?? Striptease you know, in 1950's!! During that time the females probably were so conservative and wear few layers of clothes? But she is the Queen of Striptease leh.. no wonder she so famous. I'm not encouraging anybody to become striptease k -.-
Rose Chan, so pretty leh. But too bad for you guys, can't watch her strips already

Obviously somebody added the starts to cover the nipples. Which means they really strip!!
Don't expect to see all this strip scenes in the drama lo. If I'm not mistaken they are none, I missed the earlier part anyway. Not only this, I think all the musical plays of Rose Chan didn't manage to show what Rose Chan really was also. I'm not being a pervert and ask for a strip show k. I can just go google for strip if I want to watch -.- Just that the key story of Rose Chan is she becoming a striptease! How can a striptease become a striptease if she didn't strip?? o.O I am blur.

"Once the music starts, the troupe emerges from behind the curtains, and parade on stage, clad only in panties, and a star covering each nipple. Dancing slowly to the tune of Chinese music, typically cha-cha and mambo rock, they strip naked the moment a voice booms "Hoi!" (Cantonese: open) over the microphone. The opening striptease is followed by various sideshows — standup comedians, clowns, and jugglers — which served to prolong the mounting anticipation for the star attraction.
When Chan comes on stage, she moves subtly, gently swaying in a slow dance, all by herself. As she removes one piece of clothing after another, the tempo gradually picks up. When she reaches the point of removing her brassiere, she holds back. That is when her stagehands bring in the pythons, and she dances with the snakes wrapped all around her. Next, she removes her brassiere, and dances bare-breasted. After a while, the snakes are removed. She then approaches the people sitting nearest to the stage, who are normally the elderly big towkaysHokkien: business owner). She takes an old man's spectacles, rubs it against her private parts, and then gives it back to him. Some of her acts are very crude. With her legs spread wide open, she peruses her most intimate parts to: (
- stuff a banana inside;
- open the cap of a Coca Cola bottle;
- pull out a string of razor blades that was inserted in one by one;
- shoot a dart at a balloon high up.
She then tells some jokes. Sometimes, she will ask a Caucasian (because she knows they are more sporting than the shy, local guys) to go up on stage, and gets him to strip her or any of her performers. She slowly rolls down her panties, bit by bit, until the audience can have a peek at her pubic hair. The crowd goes hysterical, and eventually, she removes her panties, and dances and sways to the beat. The music then slows down, and she walks around, and then off she goes backstage."
She is definitely a legend. All hail to the queen.
